Monero got a new way out, and it is not an exchange

THORChain activated version 3.20 on 25 August 2026, adding native swaps for Monero and Zcash against Bitcoin, Ethereum and stablecoins. Native means what it says: no wrapped tokens, no account, no handing custody to anyone.
This is the missing rail. Until now, moving between a privacy coin and the rest of the market meant a centralised exchange, a custodial swap desk, or a chain of intermediate steps — every one of them a place where identity could be demanded. A decentralised route does not remove counterparty risk, but it removes the counter.
Temper it with the usual caution. Cross-chain protocols are complex software holding real liquidity, and complexity has historically been where such systems fail. Depth on a new pair takes months to build, and a thin pool prices your trade badly. Treat the first months as an experiment with an amount you can afford to be wrong about.
What this means in practice: the delisting wave pushed liquidity somewhere, and this is one of the places it went. Worth learning now, while the stakes of learning are small.
